Having failed to make much progress finding any second hand furniture to suit the Practice Room we have opted for some cheap and cheerful modern flat-pack modular units from Argos. We put them together fairly quickly on Saturday and then spent quite some time on Sunday getting them joined together and fixed to the wall so as to be sure they would safely support the bottles of Herbal tinctures.

The shelves and cupboards have very quickly been filled with bottles and we are now looking for more shelving to take the lighter weight dried herbs. We did manage to find some second hand furniture from Creative Waste Exchange for the Conservatory to store some of the overflow less frequently needed things.

Meanwhile our poultry managed to lay six eggs the other day and a total of 32 over the week (between 13 hens), so we are starting to get into the productive spring season. Even last year's only new chick has started laying small eggs and is managing to lay almost 1 every day. We need to start thinking about getting a cockerel for this year's breeding programme.

Cats and dogs are also keeping us busy - Sally the dog stole and ate a pear from the living room table the other day, and today managed to pull a cabbage down from the utility room work surface and mangle it before she was spotted - greater care is going to have to be taken in keeping food away from her...
